Yoga Therapy and Classes

I love it that yoga, which is such an integral part of my life is so portable. I can take it anywhere, whether it's the red rocks of Sedona, the  beaches of Cape Cod or inside a studio. My practice has deeply informed and transformed my life, and it is a gift to be able to share that  with my students, both privately and in classes.

My training and certification was completed through the Kriya tradition over the course of a couple of years. But my personal practice  began in my early twenties, and became more focused in my forties, when I decided to become a teacher. My style is very hands-on,  working with students individually for correct alignment and respectful engagement. We incorporate pranayama or breath practice, which  supports depth in each pose, allowing a student to listen and find his/her edge without going beyond the body's acceptable range.

I love teaching yoga and my hope is to instill that passion and care to my students as they open to transformation in body, mind and spirit. A recent addition to my private practice is combining yoga with energy work; 45-60 minutes of yoga & 30-45 minutes of energy work.

Testimonials for Yoga Classes & Yoga Nidra

I am new to Yoga Nidra and wasn't sure what to expect during my first session, but I have trusted Robin for the past 10 years to provide the best gentle yoga experience I have ever encountered, so I knew I could trust her to introduce me to the new experience of Yoga Nidra.  The experience was deeply calming, refreshing, and optimistic, and is a valued resource for daily life and for difficult times. I hope to make this a regular part of my practice, thanks to Robin. ~ S.P.

I did Yoga Nidra for the first time in Robin’s class. The class was from 7-8 pm. I found it to be deeply relaxing while we were doing it, but even better, I went to bed at 10 and slept better than I have in months! I recommend checking it out. ~  L.R.

When I signed up for Robin's first Yoga Nidra class, I understood that it might be sleep-inducing, so I set an alarm for 15 minutes in order not to sleep through the session. I did indeed fall asleep, but after the alarm woke me, I found the rest of the session very mind opening; almost like the physical yoga stretches in my body. I felt her words stretching my mind in some hard-to-define way. A very remarkable experience and I look forward to seeing if it is repeatable - or different- in sessions to come. ~ E.W.

Robin teaches a perfect yoga class.  Never hurried, but no time wasted.  She provides instruction so that people of different levels of experience feel comfortable and challenged.  Occasionally she offers gentle hands-on corrections, like gently moving the hips into alignment, or the head in line with the spine.  Her gentle, barely-there touch is calming just in itself—somehow her integration gets communicated through her hands.  Her class along with her manner is gentle, but if you want, it can be demanding, too!  I love the challenge, yet non-judgmental place. ~ L.L.

Robin's yoga classes have helped me with my oboe playing. I can get grounded, calm and rooted. I get in touch with my music and become the music. When you become the music, people feel it, see it and are touched by it. ~ C.A.

Robin helps me to push just far enough to feel that I'm fully inhabiting myself, yet respecting my physical limits. She understands how to create and foster an environment of safety and renewal.  ~J.M.

Robin is the first teacher in twenty years to give me individual, hands on guidance. I now understand the purpose and benefits of each posture and how to protect my lower back and knees. I relish the gentle, spiritual, and relaxing atmosphere that Robin creates during each of her classes.  ~F.R.

I have been practicing yoga for over 30 years. Robin has been my best teacher, who is both inspired and grounded, both dedicated to her yoga practice and light about it, both deeply spiritual and technically savvy. She is so present to each person that it is easy to open one's heart and mind to her and to feel profoundly nurtured by her. She is intuitive and compassionate, respectful of other people's paths yet open about her own. It is a great treat to do any healing work with Robin or just to be in her presence. ~R.P.

I have been a yoga student of Robin's for 19 years. What is definitive of her teaching style, is the complete welcome gentleness that surrounds the experience. Through kind, steady, and competent leadership, Robin meets us where we are, both in terms of the yoga practice and the personal interaction.  Each person is welcomed into the group, and each energy field is met and kept company. This allows the student to relax into the experience and focus on the yoga, finishing the class renewed and refreshed. ~J.Mc.
